Patrick Slattery, an aged and highly respected citizen of this county died Saturday night aged 85. He was one of the oldest settlers in this city, having come to this county 70 years ago. He was a native son of Ireland. He was a brother of Thomas Slattery, who died about a year ago and an uncle of Patrick and William Slattery, contractors in this city. He leaves besides his aged wife one son and four daughters living (not named). He has been an invalid for about 4 years. His serious illness has lasted for the past 7 weeks. The funeral was conducted this morning at St. Bernard's Church by Rev. John Dempsy, pastor of the church. Interment at Mt. Calvery.
